Steve Jobs's vision of a' computer for the rest of us' led to the PC revolution, making Apple an American corporate icon. But Jobs ' vision was clouded somewhere— some say by his ego— and expelled from the company to which he helped discover.

Few disagree that Jobs effectively hampered the growth of Apple, but without it the company lost its sense of direction and its pioneering spirit. Following nearly 10 years of falling sales, Apple turned to his visionary founders to provide help and a slightly older and wiser job produced one of the most incredible turnarounds in the 20th century.

The adoptive son of a Mountain View, California, machinist, Steve Jobs, demonstrated early interest in electronics and gadgetry. During his time in high school, Hewlett-Packard co-founded President William Hewlett boldly called for parts for a school project.

Hewlett had not only been impressed with the parts from Jobs, but also gave him a summer internship in Hewlett-Packard. Jobs encountered and made friends with a tinkering tendency of Steve Wozniak, a five-year-old young engineer.
