At an Electronics Show today (Monday) Samsung will unveil its "artificial human" project.

Pranav Mistry leading the project posted a teaser that reveals Neon is an attempt to create lifelike avatars. Such realistic beings are built on the basis of "captured data, they can speak in multiple languages, and even generate their own gestures and actions. A Reddit user has also reported to have found a series of promo videos that give us more insight into the project. The videos have now been removed, but they have shown a community of human-like avatars that seemed convincing because they were alive.

Ministry said these digital beings could be used as virtual anchors, as receptionists, and even as AI movie stars. "While films might disrupt our sense of reality, it will be a reality for' virtual humans' or' digital humans'," he told an Indian news release.

He wrote in a tweet that a Core R3 technology "can now autonomously create new expressions, new moves, new dialog (even in Hindi), completely different from the data that was originally captured." He added a photo of a woman in the tweet.

That raises a lot of questions. Are those characters a 2D avatar enhancement or are they 3D? When do people get the world to see Neon? Samsung is likely to make some revelations but we can't say that we're going to get all the answers.

Mistry tweeted Sunday that the Core R3 technology "can now autonomously create new words, new moves, new dialog (even in Hindi), completely different from the original data captured." He included a woman's side-by-side picture, overlaid with code and other graphics.
