Glasses and contact lenses are the two common ways to fix the eye defects. Laser eye surgery burst into the medical scene about four decades ago and joined the list of vision correction therapies. The popularity of this treatment has increased across the UK but what is laser eye surgery, and how does it work?

Laser eye surgery is a procedure involving reshaping of a patient's cornea to allow light to penetrate the eye and land directly on the retina. When extracting it during the procedure, the surgeon uses surgical instruments or lasers to reshape the cornea. Furthermore, cutting off a part of the cornea is not the only option for the surgeon when conducting laser eye surgery. The alternative is to have one flap.
