What is Foreign Aid? The concept of foreign aid is simply "services provided from one country to another." It involves many types of resources, including personnel, money, and materials donated to help others from around the world in developing countries. Foreign aid can help in a number of situations, including but not limited to economic development, disaster relief, preparedness for emergencies and poverty reduction.

This chart by Wristband Resources and Wristband.com explores the amount of foreign assistance that countries provided in 2017, and also reveals the top ten developing countries that were on the receiving end. The United States, which has provided Afghanistan $1,218.64 M in foreign aid, is the biggest foreign aid donor on the entire infographic.

The USA has made significant contributions to Ethiopia, Jordan, South Sudan and Kenya. The top contributors to this report include, among several others, Germany, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Japan and France.
