Due to the features added on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat, social commerce is becoming increasingly popular, which has made shopping very easy for social media users. And with more than 2.65 billion users of social media, there is plenty of space to exploit social exchange.

Interestingly, a recent study by BizrateInsights shows that young social media users–between the ages of 18 and 34, with nearly half of the participants surveyed admitting to using the service in recent times, are major advocates of social trade.

The feature is especially popular on Instagram and Snapchat where users can easily click on the “Shop” button to make their desired purchases. Additionally, the social media influencers are also increasing revenue by not only promoting products/services on their accounts but also enabling the followers to manage their purchases and “Check out” directly from their page.
