Pinterest Introduces New Feature' Try-on' for Lipsticks #Article

Pinterest has enhanced its e-commerce options and recently released a new AR feature which allows users to' try on' lipsticks before buying them. This way they can find out how the colors of the lipstick feel like on them before going shopping.

Pinterest will attach a' Try On ' button to various selected pins in the lipsticks. All you'll have to do is tap it and a reverse-facing camera with a lip shade slider will show up on the screen, you can pick the shade you want to try and the choice will allow you to do that.

Pinterest will show related product pins after you find the shade that looks good on you, which would perfect with that color.

"Simply search for the Pinterest phone, click on' Try on' to find different shades and tap to shop from brands such as Estée Lauder, Sephora, bareMinerals, Neutrogena, and NYX Professional Makeup, YSL Beauté, Lancôme, and Urban Decay. A "try on" button will also appear on selected items, as well as searching for related terms such as "matte lipstick" or "red lips", "explained Pinterest. The new option looks quite like trying YouTube on advertisements shown through split-screens, so you can test them out with your camera when playing the video at the top.

Pinterest has not only provided this feature to specific brands or products, but this feature is currently only available to selected brands. Other brands wishing to participate in this could apply.
Pinterest has also added an option to try different skin tones with lipsticks, so users can choose lipsticks that suit their skin shade. The company centered on inclusion and diversity, and made it a key business priority.

It's also based on consumer health and proved it with an announcement that says the new app "will not include skin smoothing or picture altering effects that make you look less like you (as you might see with some other AR technologies)." This is perfect as it offers consumers the benefit of AR without any resources that can give them an unrealistic view of their looks. When unrealistic representations one the appearance of an individual can cause negative effects on a person's mental health, Pinterest's consideration is worth an applause.

What are your thoughts on the new feature? We can't wait to see what similar features Pinterest will have in store in the future for its users.
