The Chinese New Year, also known as the Chinese Spring Festival, is an annual celebration and the largest in China, but most people outside of China don't really grasp the festivities and most of them have the same concerns.

One of the biggest questions is how long exactly does the festival last? The New Year holiday officially lasts for a week, but usually the festival is scheduled to last until the fifteenth of the first lunar month and many families start shopping and other preparations even before that.
