Rental homes and apartments are becoming costly every day, and if you're still worried about their increasing expense–then you're not alone! In reality, RENTCafé published its annual U.S. apartment rent report and found that in December 2019 the national average rent rose by 3 per cent. We also note that tenants around the country are paying around $43 more a month relative to December 2018 rentals.

When it comes to living costs, Manhattan is the most expensive city in the US with tenants required to pay more than $4,000 a month for an average rental apartment.

The study also noted that in the past 12 months Phoenix, Arizona has been seeing a major increase in apartment rentals. According to RENTCafé's report, the' Valley of the Sun' saw a 9.6 per cent rise with an average rent of about $1,123.

Las Vegas came in second place with an rise in rent of 6 percent between 2018 and 2019, while Austin, Texas' capital, increased by 5 per cent.
