Road Traffic Accidents: How Does Suffolk Compare to the UK? #infographic

Road traffic accident (RTA) can happen in many different ways. The most extreme, as you would expect, is a traffic accident in which one vehicle collides (or more) with another. However, RTAs may include incidents involving pedestrians, motorcycles, and bicycles, as well as circumstances where an incident occurred due to a fault in the road or driver's vehicle.

Though these are a regular occurrence up and down the country, they may fluctuate in severity— from a minor bump in traffic to a serious accident and, in the worst cases, a fatality. In general, we prefer to classify them in three categories of seriousness when looking at RTAs:' slight' or mild injuries,'' serious' hospitalization, and fatality when one or more people are killed in the accident.
