The present pandemic has pushed us into a state of apprehension. Besides worrying about our health and economic well-being, the crisis took away our entertainment outlets such as movies and bars – which gave us a break from life's upheavals.

Perhaps most importantly, the lockout has put professional sports at a break!

As with the world's population, Americans love a strong sports game. Yet major sports leagues and competitions have either canceled, cancelled or postponed their upcoming sessions because of the limitations on social gatherings.

It seems, however, that we will not be able to see pro sports over the summers too!

Last week, Dr. Anthony Fauci, a respected American infectious disease specialist expressed that having an audience would be the only way to highlight professional sporting events. He said there could be professional sports leagues like MLB and NFL. However, no one but the players will be allowed inside the stadium. He further said the sports team's players and other officials would be screened every week to avoid contamination between each other and their families.

Seton Hall Sports Poll also conducted a poll in this regard and asked Americans if they'd be comfortable watching a sporting event at a stadium. Interestingly, given possible social distancing steps, a significant proportion of respondents – 72 per cent – said they wouldn't feel comfortable visiting a stadium.

In addition, 40% of the respondents said they wouldn't expect professional sport to make a comeback this year at all while 21% expected it would happen – but without spectators.

How would you feel if you were going to a public event before the coronavirus vaccine starts? In the comments below please let us know!
