Several studies say that the COVID-19 pandemic leaves a mortal impact on senior care homes worldwide. In reality, a recent study published by the London School of Economics research team estimates that 60 percent of deaths in some countries are related to these facilities.

The research reports that international comparison is difficult for such cases, since most countries do not monitor the same cases. The survey of selected countries, however, indicates that 64 per cent of deaths in Norway are related to the elderly care home facilities.

Similarly, 57 per cent and 55 per cent of deaths were also reported in senior care homes in Canada and Ireland.
The World Health Organisation, too, has proven that our society's elderly members are the most susceptible to coronavirus. Especially those who already suffer from pre-existing medical conditions were advised to take additional precautions.

Senior care facilities, however, typically have shared dining rooms and sleeping areas that can allow the virus to spread rapidly.

The latest update to the coronavirus reveals 3,111,418 cases with 215,310 deaths worldwide.
