44 The nearest stars and their relation with our Sun #infographic

Stars have captivated the imagination of mankind ever since the dawn of our lives. We know that the sun is the closest star on Earth but what about the planets outside of our solar system? This infographic explores the 44 nearest stars, examining the size, luminosity, constellations, structures and potential planets of every star.

Alpha Centauri is the nearest star after the sun to Earth, at a spectacular distance of around 4.3 light years away. In fact, Alpha Centauri is a triple star system that includes 4,244 light years of Proxima Centauri, 4,365 light years of Alpha Centauri A and 4,37 light years of Alpha Centauri B. But the closest star theoretically is Proxima Centauri. Alpha Centauri A represents the largest and brightest star in the system. This is about 10% bigger than our sun, 22% bigger and 150% brighter.
