One group of people most affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic is the world's displaced and refugee population.

There are around 25 million refugees worldwide, facing unprecedented challenges in housing access, government assistance and health services.

We checked the data to help paint a more accurate image of the effect COVID-19 has had on the refugee crisis.

Worldwide approximately 70.8 million forcibly displaced people are estimated. Vingt-five million of them are refugees.

37,000 people are forced to leave their homes each day because of fighting and persecution. For the background, Oprah Winfrey interviewed over 37,000 people on her talk show from 1986 to 2011.

Fifty-seven per cent of the world 's refugees come from three countries: Iraq, Afghanistan and South Sudan.

The number of displaced people around the world has more than doubled in the last 20 years and the trend is set to continue.
