Imagine two websites in the same geographic region with the same business line, and represent similar-sized businesses. Both companies agree that they are the chief competitor to the other. Both companies aim to increase sales by attracting new customers and both agreed to meet that goal by launching a website to make it easier for potential customers to find their way around.

Here the similitudes stop. Company A has agreed to build and launch the platform by employing a web development firm. Company A has invested tens of thousands of dollars in its online marketing campaign and its new site. This process has been going on, and continues for several months. Company A should expect to be paying monthly fees in the near future, even with little to no immediate return on that investment.
