Tea originated in China, which is the world's leading tea manufacturer and distributor to this day. China produced different types of tea: green, white, red, oolong, pu-erh. Though tea is not indigenous to India, it has become the second largest tea producer, selling black and green tea in particular.
During processing, Indian tea is cut in comparison to Chinese tea, resulting in a better taste but a lower shelf life. There are, however, several other different regions of the world with tea: Kenya, Turkey, Vietnam, Sri Lanka.
