When it comes to searching for products online, a lot of U.S. clients go straight to Amazon. Because of this widespread use, product searches on Amazon provide interesting insights into current shopping habits, including what shoppers focused on in 2020.

Today's chart uses data from Ahrefs to highlight the top 100 Amazon searches for U.S. products. We'll also dive into the most popular categories, as well as top keyword searches on a global basis.

The top 10 Airpods and iPads are two distinct Apple products. It is interesting that Airpods and iPads have distinctive search words from their wider categories (wireless headphones and tablets), showing the deep brand awareness of Apple in America.

Of course, more generally, Apple is still dominant in the private tech industry. For example, according to the number of devices sold, iPhones make up 46 percent of the U.S. smartphone market.

Interestingly, in the top 10 global searches, three distinct Apple devices appear: Airpods, iPad , and iPhone. In addition, the overall ranking is made up of a few older iPhone models. iPhone 7 is 21st, and iPhone 8 is 28th.

These older iPhone versions, on the U.S. chart, do not even make the top 100.
