For every dollar of venture capital, businesses with at least one female founder generate 78 cents of revenue, while male-led startups generate approximately 31 cents.

Yet, startups with only female investors earn only 3 % of the world's total dollars invested.

The above infographic from Business Financing discusses women-led startups' global landscape. This shows the top female entrepreneurs in each country profiled, based on the highest amount of capital raised.

What female entrepreneurs in the world have earned the most funding?

Based on Crunchbase results, if they were a founder or co-founder of an active business as of May 21, 2020, individuals were selected across 102 countries. Based on their status in seed, early stage venture, or late stage venture financing, companies were chosen.

Lucy Peng, co-founder of Ant Group and Alibaba, tops the list with $22 billion in funding. Until co-founding Alibaba with 18 others in 1999, Peng taught economics for five years. She is worth over $1 billion today.

Following Peng is Rebekah Neumann, with The We Group, who raised $19.5 billion. Neumann studied business at Cornell with a minor in Buddhism, and later co-founded with her husband Adam Neumann and Miguel McKelvey the gig-focused company in 2010. Following WeWork 's famously disastrous IPO, she and her husband have since left the firm.

Tan Hooi Ling, who formed Grab in Singapore, came in seventh. A big Uber competitor in Asian markets is the ride-hailing service.

Cristina Junqueira, who co-founded NuBank, a digital banking venture, is also on the top 10 list. NuBank currently operates, with over 20 million customers, as the largest fintech business in South America. Meanwhile, Vinted, Lithuania's first tech unicorn, was co-founded by Milda Mitkute and serves as the world's largest second-hand apparel website.
