US. U.S. President Donald Trump revealed earlier today that, after travelling with one of his advisors, Hope Hicks, who tested positive last Wednesday, he and his wife, Melania Trump, had contracted the coronavirus. A month before the runoff, which will take place on November 3, the president, already embroiled in an election campaign, will have to undergo a quarantine. Donald Trump is not the only world leader whose coronavirus test has been positive, as this infographic reveals, though.

On March 27, Boris Johnson, the British prime minister, was the first major political leader to make his Covid-19 diagnosis public. Johnson was hospitalized for a week and spent three nights in intensive care until, on April 27, he resumed his post. Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro also revealed that, on June 7, he had contracted the disease. Only two days later, Jeanine Áñez, Bolivia's interim president, declared her positive test results. In July and September, two more Latin American leaders, Honduran Juan Orlando Hernández and Guatemalan Alejandro Giammattei, have tested positive for Covid-19.
